I kinda hated this album when I first heard it. More specifically, I LOVED the shit out of "3rd Planet," which remains one of my all time favorite songs. After warming up to, and falling in love with The Lonesome Crowded West and Good News for People Who Love Bad News, I came back to this one. I'm not quite as smitten, but it's probably in my top 200 now.
Track picks
1. 3rd Planet
2. Gravity Rides Everything
9. The Stars Are Projectors
11. Paper Thin Walls _________________ Inversion Verses

The production quality of this one is much higher, but I tend to give Lonesome Crowded West the edge. Some like it raw. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

Unlike some would say, it's not an album that you have to listen to alone, depressed and in the wintertime in order to be mesmerized, but I think TM&A will sting a lot harder if you are in that "perfect" state of mind.

Even though It's not a double album I always was never able to finish this and Lonesome in one sitting,so if there's any nitpicking it would be that. But almost all of it is too good for me to give it less points due to that.

Great album. I didn't get into MM until Good News for People Who Love Bad News, but once I did I found some great older albums to explore. Really excited for their new one, I'm digging Lampshades on Fire a lot!

This and TLCW are among my favorite rock albums ever and this could eventually take the place of Lonesome in my chart. The first four tracks are among the best openings ever too. I'm excited for their new album.
