I love Little Lion Man and The Cave, but I must admit that I don't remember the rest. I think that I mostly don't care for it. Like, it's not unbearable, just boring. Maybe I should give it another spin. Maybe I should just forget it.

Pretty much what everyone else said. Little Lion Man and The Cave are cool but the rest...

What genre are you referring to?

@lethalnezzle , you're right. Good point.

As for what you said romanelli, I'd say I was referring to the relatively recent wave of bands that make a similar style of music - sort of a pop/über clean Americana. Avett brothers, Mumford and Sons, the Lumineers, the head an the heart, Edward sharp and the magnetic zeros even The fleet Foxes.

Edit: obviously I recognize not all those artists I mentioned aren't American, so their sound may be illogical to call Americana, but not really. There seems to be a heavy leaning on folk/country/ traditional American music as a back bone to the sound.

Now that I think of it, it ain't a "genre" at all, but more a group of artists that I associate who happen to have a somewhat similar sound and aesthetic to me.

The word 'my' features on this album about 120 times.

I like this album. I know it's the whipping boy of the charts...I really don't understand why. I do know that country and bluegrass lovers hate it because they play country instruments but they don't play country music. It's a good sounding record that keeps growing on me. Songs that sound great...I think they deserve better than what they get.

But, I guess there has to always be a band that's cool to hate....

couldn't you just turn it around the other way and say there has to always be a band that's cool to like because everyone hates it?

You could. I can honestly say that the fact that people hate it has nothing to do with why I like it. I like this album because I like the music on it. No other reason.
