Just realized my mistake. Dreyer is already on my list. I meant Bela Tarr.

Looking through these lists, there's a small handful of directors of whom I've never seen their work.

Your guess looks just as good as mine. As far as the order goes I have no clue, although I think it's a four way battle between Hitchcock, Kubrick, Kurosawa and Bergman so that's my guess for top 4.

Remove Antonioni, Truffaut and Coppola, add Mizoguchi, Lang and Lynch, and that's probably the right top 20. Then again there could be a Von Trier, Linklater and/or Jarmusch surprise in there.

I'm just really really hoping Ozu makes top 50 at least. It's a travesty he's so little seen. It's not just here though. Apparently the reason Criterion released 5 fantastic movies made in his prime in one Eclipse series set instead of separate regular releases (which is fine by me) is because most of his films aren't big sellers.

Yeah I think (maybe its just hope?) that Kurosawa is number 1. We shall see. I'm not the biggest Kubrick fan so him not in the top 4 would be great. Hitchcock I always more admired/respected more than truly loved. He'll probably be number 1 if I'm being honest with myself.

Ozu I really think WILL be too 20 or 30. He's widely regarded as the greatest or one of the greatest directors ever, like top 10 level. I haven't looked over the polls yet, but I trust he'll be ...lets see... final guess is #21.

I've changed my name on many sites and games to SatyajitRy, so it's clear I'm really pulling for him more than anyone else as my favorite director ever. He's truly a master and I adore him and I want him to get mad love on these results. CALCUTTA REPRESENT REPRESENT!!!

Meh. Ozu wasn't on many charts. I don't see him going higher than #30 at best. If I am underestimating him I'll be thrilled. But if Tokyo Story couldn't even make top 20 of the 50s it just doesn't seem likely.
