Sounds like the genreal consensus is that her Eps r where it's at. |
From EP2. I think the lyrics on EP2 have a poetic force that LP1 doesn't quite match.
He won't make love to me now
Not now, I've set the fee
He said it's too much in pounds
I guess I'm stuck with me
He told me I was so small
I told him "Water me"
I promise I can grow tall
When making love is free

CMYK is pretty good i'll admit but the hype around his debut really overshadowed the fact that there's essentially a single bass drop on there that titillated all the Internet nerds who weren't into admitting they liked Skrillex into giving it all sorts of random accolades. It's not his fault that the music press arbitrarily separated him from pop music (along with, say, Disclosure later on), but it is tiresome to have him have some kinda special rep for being a savior or revolutionary in a genre that needed neither saving nor revolution

I feel like the "genre savior" phenomenon (*cough*Kendrick*cough*) happens all too often in any number of genres, none of which have ever needed saving. Not gonna fault the guy for the way press advertises his presence, which admittedly is annoying as fuck

Great discussion people...
I find this album becoming less and less interesting with every listen. I really liked it on first listen... _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.
