Such a visceral impact. Not as strong or as consistent as Doolittle but it's still has some of the greatest alternative tracks that almost anybody can enjoy. _________________

For some reason this never really managed to strike me as hard as Doolittle. I'd like to love it as much, it'd make me look cooler, but I just can't. Whatever, excellent album still, short and exciting.

It's like Irishmusichead said, "visceral". That's the perfect word to describe this album. I mean the inevitable comparisons to Doolittle are, well, inevitable. But honestly these 2 albums are pretty close in their greatness as far as I am concerned. If I want something gritty, rabid , visceral, exciting I go here. I'd say Doolittle features better songs, better consistency, better variety and more absolutely awe-inspiring moments. But Rosa just can't be beat as a complete, bloody, invigorating 30 minute rock and roll experience. The Pixies just sound younger and hungrier here. And there seems to be this joyous excitement coming from the band like they're all thinking "Holy shit! We really have something great we're making here!".
Yeah, I really love it. _________________ -Ryan

Honestly, I have always preferred this record to Doolittle. It's close though. They are both great albums but this one always had more of an anger filled edge. For lack of a better term, it's savage.

One of three masterpieces by the Pixies and, although my least favourite of the three, it is still fucking incredible.

Me too... especially when it's packaged with Come on Pilgrim. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

A little inconsistent, still some amazing tracks. I prefer Doolittle though.
