Aww hell nah, Shields does NOT get to beat the best ever guitarist. Django for the tourney, man. I have a feeling at least a few of the votes going Shields' way might not even be well versed in Reinhardt, which is just dumb.
This man had 2 fingers and put out work that has never really been replicated. And yes, yes, Shields did his own thing too and etc, it's just not nearly as impressive to me.
Oh, and fun fact, no Reinhardt, probably no Iommi, who is going to win his round, it looks like. _________________
From enjoying music point of view, I have liked more of what Kevin Shields has done than Django Reinhardt. Kevin Shields is from the far future compared to the time of Django so this probably affects how he is heard. I mean Kevin was all about the robots and machines

Yeah it's just totally different styles. I getcha, and I wasn't saying before that there's a right answer here. But there's sort of a right answer here, in mind. I guess it's really just who has more talent, you know? Say "Devil Went Down To Georgia" happened but with guitars instead of fiddles and it decided the fate of the human race. Do you want Shields or Reinhardt to play against the devil? Who's technically skilled enough to beat him?
That is legit how I've tiebroken some of these other matches. _________________
Of all the quarterfinal matches, this is the only difficult one for me. I'm going with Shields simply because I believe he has a greater understanding of electric guitar timbre experimentation (which I treasure more than most traditional playing), having revolutionized it with simple effects in a simple way that only requires some ingenuity and a good ear. And because I have a greater emotional attachment to Isn't Anything (thanks again, mancsoulsister), Loveless, and m b v than most things Django has done. I'd be glad to see either go through though.
