Apart from Racing like a Pro there's hardly a weak track on it

Potentially my favorite song on Boxer.

Here is the right answer:

Boxer > High Violet >> Alligator > Trouble Will Find Me >>> Sad Songs >> The National

Now all of you who follow just copy paste the above.

Part of what makes The National such a great band, and what is evident by the posts on this thread, is that they have such a strong discography that any of their albums are of high enough quality to be anyone's favorites. Boxer is definitely my fourth favorite of The National's work, but I also think that it's probably their most consistent in quality, in that every song is really, really good, especially through the first seven tracks. If I had one beef with Boxer, it's that I don't think it closes very strong, mostly because of "Ada." Other than that, I think that this is an amazing album. Top 100, no question.

My own take on The National's discography...

Alligator > Trouble Will Find Me > High Violet > Boxer > The National > Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers

Track picks
1. Fake Empire
2. Mistaken For Strangers
5. Green Gloves
6. Slow Show
7. Apartment Story

I think Sad Songs is criminally underappreciated, not my favorite by them, but better than most give it credit for. That violin on 90 mile water wall breaks my heart every single time.

I'd agree with that.
