This is tough cuz I do consider Tim one of the greatest achievements in rock history. And Rain Dogs is same level stuff. And the '85 singles are a bit better than the '69 singles. But I could do without that Foetus album, and I have never been a fan of the smiths. But Fall group is a cool group, so that's something.
As for those 69 albums, I was laughing because I was scrolling and I was saying after Let It Bleed "hard to top that", then that Neil Young record did top it, then I said the same thing internally and of course "In A Silent Way" topped it AGAIN! Stellar as it gets on the albums.
Okay, then I was definitely leaning '85. Then I saw you recycled "Running Up That Hill" one week after using Hounds of Love LP. That put me off. But still considering the albums on '85 are only just barely a notch below '69, and the singles feature Pogues and Metallica, so even disregarding that Kate Bush, I'm leaning '85 here.
Still, I wouldn't recommend recycling singles from already used albums. _________________ -Ryan

Both the best singles on that 1985 team are recycled from previously used albums, so even though I prefer 1985's albums (The Fall! The Smiths! The Replacements! Tom Waits!), I'm likely gonna vote 1969 here (stellar singles, uneven album selection). Shame. _________________ 2021 in full effect. Come drop me some recs. Y'all know what I like.

Is there a rule that I am not allowed to use singles from albums? I might have missed that.

It's a personal choice, I lobbied for it to be a rule right off the bat that one can't recycle and thought it was set but turned out not so, I donno I guess some (including myself) find it rather cheap to re-use singles from albums cause it's basically a way to double-dip your most popular albums/artists, but no there's no rule against and it's perfectly legal to do so. Just be warned it could cost you some votes if you do choose to recycle.

Recycled singles or not, that 1985 group of albums is insanely good. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com
