one of the most preposterous rock acts of all time. Morrison's antics are always over-the-top and obnoxious, the music plays like a(n even) shittier version of the Stooges, and the legions of newly minted pubescents moved to drip the contents of their hearts (and pus-filled faces) all over the page are the most prominent and most ghastly legacy the Doors have left behind.

Anyway yeah one of the few albums in the classic rock canon that I truly adore (for reasons on which I might elaborate further sometime later)

I bought a used copy of this and it was the censored version.
I told my friend and he offered me this piece of advice: "always check ur shit, fam, know what i'm saying?"
That friend was myself, I'm sure you can tell. _________________

This pretty much sums up every thing The Doors were about musically. They managed to be experimental while having a pop music sensibility that made them accessible to a much broader audience that the usual psychedelic rock crowd. Best songs:the whole damn album. This is pretty high on my list of all time favourites.

It's on my top chart and for good reason. Might be one of my favorite albums from that specific era. _________________
