Happy spooky day everyone! In honor of Halloween, post your favorite album to listen to at this time of year!

This one has always been my favorite. It's always felt like an Autumn album to me, even though it was released in the spring. It just oozes with Baroque and even Gothic atmosphere at certain points. Butcher's Tale being the spookiest part!

Because his birthday is today, anything from country singer Darryl Worley has to be played. Smile Smile Smile

God bless you and him always!!! Smile Smile Smile

Holly (a day one fan of Darryl)

P.S. Of course his most well known song is this 9/11 release that went to radio fifteen years ago.

Either Killer by Alice Cooper or Excitable Boy by Warren Zevon, the latter because it features "Werewolves of London", my favorite Halloween themed song.

Bitches Brew by Miles Davis

A Moon Shaped Pool by Radiohead

I just listened to both of these while handing out candy.

I don't think I've ever had any connection between Halloween and what I wanted to listen to. It's just another day and I don't seek out eerie music on October 31 any more than I seek out holiday music on December 25.

That said, there was a Halloween influence on music at our house. Before my son went to college, on Halloween, we'd dress up as scary as we could, break out the amps, son would get his guitar and I my bass, and weather permitting we'd set up on the front step and we'd jam appropriately themed tunes for all the kiddies brave enough to approach our candy bow. We'd play:

Ghost Riders in the Sky (Outlaws style)
Don't Fear the Reaper (Blue Oyster Cult)
Paranoid (Black Sabbath)
Godzilla (Blue Oyster Cult)
Black Sabbath (Black Sabbath)
Frankenstein (Edgar Winter)
Lady Evil (Black Sabbath)
