Hey, we have basketball fans on here, what up?
Loving the beginning of the season, been watching several games at a time most days. My Warriors are starting great and are probably going to repeat. Lots of fun surprises too. Pistons looking like a playoff team to start the season, Orlando are super fun to watch, etc.
Here are my playoff predictions:
1. Warriors
2. Thunder
3. Spurs
4. Clippers
5. Houston
6. Memphis
7. New Orleans
8. Utah or Sacremento
1. Cavs
2. Bulls
3. Hawks
4. Wizards
5. Toronto
6. Bucks
7. Miami
8. Detroit

I didn't watch the game, but I was mildly shocked of the Houston and Golden State deficit. I figured the Warriors would take the win, but not by 20, lol.

I'll tell you one thing. Watching my man Westbrook get that game saving half court three with 0.7 seconds left on the clock was special.
Also my playoff predictions are:
1. Warriors
2. Spurs
3. Thunder (I love the Thunder don't get me wrong, but even with an aging Parker I think the Spurs have too many assets going their way right now)
4. Clippers
5. Houston
6. Memphis
7. Utah
8. New Orleans (Think they're gonna have trouble and will just barely slide in after they have all their starters in place)
1. Cavs
2. Bulls
3. Wizards
4. Hawks
5. Detroit
6. Toronto
7. Miami

Love how wide open the NBA is compared to a decade ago. I can think of a half-dozen teams at least who could challenge for the title.
EAST
1. Cleveland (better lineup than last year)
2. Chicago (so deep)
3. Miami (Retooled nicely)
4. Toronto (Carroll is a huge addition + skinny Lowry)
5. Washington (Wall for MVP?)
6. Atlanta (Losing vaunted depth)
7. Milwaukee (Will sneak up on teams)
8. Boston (no stars, but solid depth)
9. Indiana (George gets them close, but too thin)
10. Detroit (2nd rate Clippers clone)
11. Charlotte (Nothing special)
12. Orlando (a year away)
13. New York (Better, but still flawed)
14. Brooklyn (Worst backcourt in NBA)
15. Philly (Noel is great, and wasted on this team)
WEST
1. LAC (Fixed depth issue)
2. OKC (Easy divisional wins)
3. SA (Good lord their frontcourt is ridiculous)
4. GS (Curry is amazing)
5. NO (So is Davis)
6. Houston (No depth, but they have Harden)
7. Utah (Will sneak up on teams)
8. Memphis (same old same old)
9. Dallas (Lineup is degrading year after year)
10. Sacramento (Could make playoffs, or could implode)
11. Phoenix (Don't get their roster moves. Somone explain?)
12. Minnesota (next year)
13. LAL (Sorry Kobe)
14. Portland (what a teardown)
15. Denver (team directionless)
Playoffs
East final - Cleveland over Miami in 6
West final - LAC over SA in 7
Champs - Cleveland over LAC in 7

Have they really though? Sure they got Pierce and Stephenson, but Stephenson as he is now isn't even remotely a productive basketball player and Pierce is a shell and will have some good intangibles but isn't going to fix their tragic depth. Their next players behind Paul and Jordan are Austin Rivers and Cole Aldrich respectively, which isn't good, and Smith does bad things as often as he does good things. Crawford has lost a step and is a streak shooter, Johnson has never done much, and nobody else is going to see time in the playoffs. They're certainly not the #1 team in the West, and I honestly don't get how anyone could say it's a team other than the Warriors or OKC at this point in the season. Spurs are gonna be resting people a lot through the regular season so they won't be winning as much, and Parker is in the middle of a serious decline.
I'd even go as far to say that Houston has more depth than LAC, with Beverly, Jones, McDaniels, Harrell, Capela, Brewer, Dekker, and Terry coming off the bench, but LAC's starting line-up is better than Houston's for sure. Also Milwaukee isn't sneaking up on people they're one of the most hyped teams this season. NOLA definitely isn't getting the fifth seed and I'd be surprised if they get 50 wins, they just don't have good health or depth. Utah will probably make the playoffs but their PG depth is dire.
As for Phoenix, they're a confusing team stuck between trying to win now and build for the future. Chandler gives them a defensive anchor and veteran leader but is going to limit Len which isn't very smart, and Bledsoe has to make the all-star leap this year if the team wants to make the playoffs. Knight and Bledsoe together works in theory and isn't a terrible idea, though Morris has to become more than just a good stretch 4 and become a reliable one this year, along with stepping up his defensive effort on a nightly basis. They've got other good rotational pieces too in Booker and Warren. I don't believe in them as a playoff team but it's possible.
Denver isn't directionless, Gallo healthy is actually a really good player and Faried could very possibly improve. Plus they've got Nurkic and Jokic and Mudiay, who I was really down on during the draft but now that I've watched more am convinced will be an all-star in a couple years. They certainly won't be the worst team in the West, that'll either be Minnesota, LA, or Portland, who might be better than expected but need a couple years and a few more lottery picks to become something to really be scared of.
Atlanta won't regress as much as you think, Wall won't be an MVP candidate but will be really good, and I just can't buy Boston as a playoff team now that there are actually some other decent teams in the East. Detroit aren't remotely a Clippers clone, if anything they're a late 00s Magic clone because Van Gundy is trying to recreate that team with Drummond as Howard.

I think this is the year the Wizards need to take another step forward. Losing Pierce was hard, both for me personally, and for the team. I'm hopeful that Otto Porter can step it up and be the top-5 draft pick we thought he was, we'll see what happens. But I think Wall and Beal (Beal especially) need to continue to take incremental steps forward (I think Wall could ultimately be an MVP candidate) and if they develop into one of, if not the, best backcourt in the NBA, then I think we can really get the #KD2DC hypetrain going (and oh man will I be all on that train)

Holy Hell... Warriors are looking good. I thought the Spurs would give them fits.
On another note, my Raps are rolling. Once Carroll comes back they might actually get out of the first round this year.
