A Crow Looked At Me blew me away in ways I was never expecting it to. Not many albums are able to draw such a raw emotional response out of me like that one does, it was incredible. _________________ 2023 Chart

The National album is for me the strongest of the bunch.
its absolutely captivating and has strong guitar playing, incredible singing and just an amazing variety of songs
by naturally talented artists.
The band have many good albums but I believe they hit a grand slam home run for this one.
initially when I purchase the album, I found it confusing and different.
now that I have listened to it, > 10 times, I can say that its amazing.
Another opinion:
I purchased Kendrick Lamar's new album.
After reading on this site how brilliant a musician he is (also on other music sites as well).
For me it was a big disappointment and I was unable to listen to more than 4 songs.
I have read that many believe this is not his best stuff; okay I will agree with that.
but i'm not sure I could even sample any more of his tunes.
The lorde album is very very good.
but somewhat of a let down, for me, because her first album was absolutely brilliant.

A decent enough top ten for me. The only one in my own though is Slowdive so that one gets my vote.
I seem to be the only person in the universe who thinks Taylor Swift made a better album than Lorde in 2017 (not trolling here-I honestly mean that )

that's not necessarily a drawback for me, usually with these tops I've heard at least one, I was just more drawn into other stuff this time around. I want to hear the mount eerie one but I haven't kept up with his stuff at all and it felt like it'd be weird to come back to this one first. and I really should check slowdive, haven't listened to them at all.

Ditto, although I heard a few. Thing was I didn't like most. My 2017 likes have zero overlap with overall BEA lists for most years since about 1990.

slowdive didn't make my chart, since i capped at 20, but it'd've been the only one of these in my top 100, so i'm on that too. _________________ follow me on the bandcamp.

Heard and liked all of these. Well, maybe liked is a strong word for A Deeper Understanding. I'd rank them:
1. Slowdive
2. DAMN.
3. Crack-Up
4. A Crow Looked At Me
5. Sleep Well Beast
6. Melodrama
7. Saturation III
8. American Dream
9. Flower Boy
10. A Deeper Understanding
The best Saturation is II btw. _________________ Add me on RYM
