I've always said that just about everyone has put out at least ONE thing that I like. Even acts that I don't like usually come up at least one or two things that I end up liking.

On this site I sometimes feel guilty/peer pressure for liking U2 and Radiohead and the Beatles (I should say in these forums).

Anyone who tries to make you feel bad for liking some of the greatest bands of all time is simply missing the boat. Don't feel that as peer pressure...take it as someone who is a fool who doesn't respect that the music of these bands is very good, and let them have their opinions. It's their loss.

And know that they probably like a ton of music influenced by the same bands they think it's so cool to hate.

That's usually the case (and of course it isn't admitted) - they somehow find ways to devalue these bands as if they single handily could overcome their careers had they just tried... or the real artist here is Moondog or someone less well known. IDK... sometimes I like hearing at least the counter arguments. There are logic gaps on both sides... it's hard to take any point of view dogmatically. But it is incredibly annoying when someone (especially when they haven't tried) dogs on these artists usually because they found another artist similar, but less known/they just discount them as base artists. I think it's easy to do that with things which may have worn out their welcome and new things seem better because they haven't had to be in the spotlight for so many years. IDK... rambling now.

Some cool musical touches, and it's quite creepy.

Do you mean it's creepy because it's about somebody dying? I'd have to agree with that. Definitely a strange song.

For example this band here that makes cover albums of famous bands. At first I was horrified like everyone else whoever.heard them. But now I listen to them without embarrassment.. Even though I probably should be. But when I want to hear Nevermind l listen to this instead of Nirvana. It makes me smile, and the real Nevermind doesn't. Ha ha.

Never Mind Nirvana by The Dillingers I

I thought I read that in Jacques Brel's original version, the guy's committing suicide, but apparently he's just dying.

Electro was pretty horrifying. One of the worst electronic styles ever.

If you’re talking about early 80s (or first wave) electro (i.e. early hip-hop with drum machine beats and the like) you’re way off, and that’s putting it politely.

However, if it’s the cheesy over-produced (usually Euro) pap as in the link from where the above quote came, I concur.

Yeah, the recent one I meant. The old electro was alright. The one that came at the tail end of disco. The Planet Rock type. Grandmaster Flash type was good.

I actually have a soft spot for what is often considered the worst song of all-time. I am not sure if it is the song i like or the memories it conjures up but I am fond of "We Built This City" By Starship (Formerly Jefferson Starship and prior to that Jefferson Airplane)

I know many people on this site wouldn't admit to loving both of these.
