- Post subject: Favourite Pixies songs
|
There were several really fun and interesting "best songs" topics, thought I'd add another one cause I find it amusing. Pixies are one of the bands that I love a long time now (well long considering my age), have seen them live, heard everything from them, and I would love to hear as many opinions about their best songs as possible
1. Caribou
2. Velouria
3. Havalina
4. Vamos
5. Gouge Away
6. Nimrod's Son
7. Monkey Gone To Heaven
8. Debaser
9. Bone Machine
10. In Heaven (Lady in the Radiator Song) or Distance Equals Rate Times Time or Broken Face, I couldn't decide _________________ Finally updated the overall chart

I’ll probably post my top 10 later but as a bassist do I have permission to say that “Hey” is genius? It hits me all over the spine and latches onto that dark corner at the back of mind that only songs like it can satisfy. Kim Deal seriously is one the most goat players without any doubt. And the fact that it isn’t even widely considered to be the best track on Doolittle is indisputable proof of that they’re more than just a “great band”. _________________ Some RYM paraphernalia:

*on or before 1991.
Maybe overplayed because it was in a movie, but the Wave of Mutilation (UK Surf) track is awesome.

majority of Pixies songs are stunning, but "River Euphrates" doesn't get mentioned nearly as much as it should _________________

That thing is killer! But I’ve always thought Hey was one of the most well-known Pixies tracks? Or am I wrong? Either way it’s fun to play on guitar too, that “racking” arpeggiated sound is cool, you can never get enough of playing that! _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
