Tried to diversify the chart a bit, but boy is it tough. Impossible to cut the metal, hip hop, electronic and indie/alternative stuff. After all, it's the golden age for those 4, and they are some of my all-time fave styles/genres/scenes. Album cover ratings in the description box. Love me some good cover art.
A lot of symbolism. Such strong point of view.
Right?
Strong...
I knew you would get it, Mr. Kevin.
I see. It’s an interpretation of a chimpanzee.
It’s a self-portrait.
Of course. Us grown-ups are too jaded to see true genius.

Thanks Merc! Yeah Dream Theater are an edge case, but I've been a fan since I was 12 or something, and despite it not being my kind of prog metal, I still love them to this day. At least the earlier works.
Dark Tranquillity are another interesting case, since I usually prefer the more heavy, groovy, doomy and technical death metal to the melodic kind, but The Gallery (and the band in general) hits the right note. It's one of the heavier Gothenburg bands and their tunes are so catchy. It's faster, more technical, more consistently fun and plain better than any other melodeath band I've heard, apart from maybe Amorphis.

Great chart. Some crossover with my faves of this decade with many that I have never heard. Already I have noted a couple Recommendations (most notably that Dark Tranquility album and that Souls of Mischief one as well - a couple classics of their genre that I have been eyeing for years). There are a couple here whose inclusion may make me reconsider whether I really do hate them (like Dream Theater). Anyway, good stuff.
