Laughing I used to love that song.

I have vivid memories of singing this song with a group of kids in the lunch line in 6th grade. Very Happy

Best song of the 2000s but nominees are limited to what you heard at school dances would be a fun tournament, although I wouldn't want to exclude users who are older.

At my senior homecoming dance, an edited version of "All Gold Everything" by Trinidad James was played.

Shocked

Nice. Pretty sure Sandstorm by Darude was on the setlist at both proms I went to.

O Children - Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
One of the best songs by the man

River in the Pines - Willard Grant Conspiracy
They have some better ones but I’m assuming that not many people have heard of them, and this is one of their most popular songs. I also wanted to keep it short, at least for this one. Also they have quite a lot of anti-bangers, so this is the one you’re least likely to cry to heh. Despite me being a happy person I always seem to vote for sad songs Very Happy

You Were But a Ghost In My Arms - Agalloch
Decided to nominate 1 metal song and no hip hop boppers (Skinny we’re counting on you here), and I was torn between so many great stuff. Isis, Neurosis, Tool, Mastodon, Dillingers, Drudkh, Immortal, Gojira, Electric Wizard, Sleep and that’s just the most popular ones that I remembered off the top of my head. It ended up being Agalloch vs Opeth battle, and I think this is the one that defines early 00s metal best.

It’s Not Up To You - Björk
Last choice was the hardest. Again, went with the short one. GYBE, Matmos, Porcupine Tree, Bright Eyes, The Unicorns, Sun Kil Moon, Boris, Fennesz all died for this. But if anyone deserves a nomination absolutely everywhere it’s Bjork.

also a great track. i'd've gone pagan poetry, but i guess we'll ride this bjork nomination.

props for discussing the tracks a bit. working on my noms now....

Here are some basically unknown tracks I love:

||:Mono:|| Poly - Sobre La Amistad (Originally released in 2003)
Son Kite - Focus (Shiloh Remix) (2004)
Infusion - Meant To Be (2000)
Evil Nine - Devil Stuff (2004)

They won't go far, but at least, I can be sure that no one else will nominate these.

Now you see both baystateoftheart and Tha1ChiefRocka messed up because this is the defining song of the 2000's.
