Sounding like a broken record but both songs here work better as part of a greater whole than on their own, though "Wake Up" is a whole new supernova with the live Bowie addition. Might nudge towards BoC, still surprised about Cannibal Ox's loss last round (though I guess that's true with a lot of the hip-hop sacrifical lambs), though studio Wake Up is still very very very good Arcade Fire

I don't think Wake Up sounds any less impactful outside of the original album. It's a single in the truest form. That being said, the Bowie/Arcade Fire version is much superior to the album version _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
Yeah Wake Up is a weird one to apply that critique to. It's not the best song off Funeral but it might be the one that the most people would recognize, and I think it's a pretty big part of indie rock in the 2000s. I also like it more than Music is Math, so I voted for it. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
Yeah I don't have a way with explaining myself in english anymore, I'm just saying Wake Up live and Wake Up studio are two different beasts, the former is the far superior version and the latter really works better when it's surrounded by the rest of Funeral, despite it being yes one of the more instantly recognizable numbers. Same story with "No Cars Go", though that was a bit more awkward inclusion towards the end of Neon Bible. Fuddit I donno what Im saying anymore, gonna give the edge to BoC and that's that
My favourite boards track vs my most tired of arcade fire track. Easy one for me but definitely could have gone the other way with a better song off funeral _________________ kill yr idols
