It would seem like Father John Misty's music would usually turn me off, but surprisingy I like it despite it's easy targets, and Aldous Harding seems like something I would really enjoy but I just... don't. So I guess a vote for Pure Comedy
Really wish these weren't up against each other. Find them both to be fantastic.
In the end though, FJM (who by the way I didn't really dig until this record, so great pick... almost picked Total Entertainment Forever from this record myself).
I know I'm in the minority, but I find this FJM song (like the rest of the album it's from) to be completely maudlin and bland musically while not being nearly as insightful or clever as it thinks it is lyrically. Super easy vote for Harding. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.

i miss old FJM, his newer stuff hasnt been as provocative or interesting
Yeah I can see that on those - they definitely are more immediate.
Something about the anthropological aspect of Pure Comedy (album and title track) I Really dig... more so than anything else he's done. Dunno why I feel completely different than everyone else - I actually do think his ramblings are clever philosophical shticks. Probably because I'm a pasty wonky cracker.
