Not My Baby is good, but not as good as the best songs on their debut imo.
This was the most difficult vote for me of this round but ^this logic ended up shaping my vote for Tyler. "Not My Baby" is terrific but I'm not sure it's that much of a step up from songs like "Next of Kin" or "Archie, Marry Me," to speak nothing of how "In Undertow" is, for me at least, the clear highlight from Antisocialites. Tyler's song is a lot more well-written I think and stands out against his discography more. I'd be happy to see either of these move on though. _________________ And it's hard to be a human being. And it's harder as anything else.
Alvvays are that band that loads of my friends love but whom I've never given a real chance to, a band that seem perfectly fine on a surface level but pretty unexciting overall. Tyler is an artist whose growth I've witnessed in real time, from the first time I heard the 'Fuck Santa' demo through to the present day, and he's only gotten less interesting as he's become more competent.
