Easy vote to YG. It's just a classic track and maybe the best thing he's ever done. World Princess Pt. II or Realiti are some of the best songs of the decade but Flesh Without Blood, like California, never really did much for me.

As I said last time, 'Flesh Without Blood' leans on some fairly garish, maximalist sounds that I'm not really fond of, but is then also super fussy and subsequently lacks the clarity of, say, Hannah Diamond's best songs. I also praised Grimes' ability to shove a bunch of earworms into a song last time, but I've found that this time around I couldn't remember them from the first time, making this a peculiarly forgettable effort as far as she's concerned. I don't think it's a bad song, per se, but it doesn't sit amongst her top tier.
'Twist My Fingaz', on the other hand, is a total beast of a song, a series of instantly chantable sledgehammer flows and mantras over luscious, lovingly recreated g-funk (courtesy of Terrace Martin, also responsible for a number of Kendrick's best, most explicitly West Coast songs), capturing everything that makes YG a great rapper: his underdog paranoia; his stubborn allegiance to Compton's great rap heritage; his economy of words and total clarity of message; his forceful, conflicted personality, a rapper who wants to represent everybody on the streets, as Tupac once did, even if it will get him shot. As I said last round, this is music to soundtrack drive-by shootings at sunny, joyous, neighbourhood barbecues, music that is both warmly triumphant and coldly indifferent to the ways of the world, music about the strength of street knowledge that pays homage to all the great Californian gangster rap of the past whilst proudly, defiantly standing alongside it, forging a way forward and dragging the best bits along with it. I can always groove with Grimes and like the beautiful tonal balancing act here but Twist My Fingaz is just sheer perfection, not necessarily as ambitious but nowadays I just find it the better listen as it's catchy as hell but still has plenty of bite to it as well.
