This is definitely - not only one of the best psychedelic albums I've discovered recently - one of the best psychedelic albums ever. Period. It's so good, that even at 361 still feels underrated.
Still personally prefer In Search _________________ My Top 100 :

I saw them live 4 times in the 80's and they were really good each time This album is good but not as good as On The Threshold Of A Dream or Every Good Boy Deserves Favour.

Interesting that you 'd classify this as psychedelic, not sure how I'd call it myself, it's usually labelled somewhere between art rock/ progressive / symphonic. I guess it's one of those albums that go beyond genres so any description is partially right but still fails to capture its essence in its entirety.
Apart from genres it also transcends eras, it has a particular pre modern charm that is reminiscent of the age of innocence so to speak, but it doesn't sound dated at all by today's standards .
The day concept is of course another nice touch.
I can only imagine what an impression this would have made back in 1967, a monumental artistic achievement.

This album has always held a special place in my heart because it absolutely blew me away when I was first really getting into music back in high school.
We used to hook up iPods to the sound system we had in my high school band room and play music and kinda goof off when no one was there or if we were there after school or whatever, and I distinctly remember popping this album on and blasting it on the sound system, not really knowing much of the album aside from Nights in White Satin and Tuesday Afternoon, and man, I remember just sitting there blown away by the whole thing. It's a really beautiful album _________________ 2023 Chart

Even though the album is undeniably corny and borderline goofy with all the strings, those last 3 songs are something else. Such great melodies and vocals on all of them.
And after all those semi silly songs, it ends with Nights In White Satin, which comes out of nowhere and takes such a serious turn. Truly one of the greatest love songs ever. _________________ All time
