I always like Sufjan when he embraces his most unabashadly earworm style of songwriting. We are went down a bit too easy for it's subject... wait, is that who won the Grammy?
Out of all the excellent songs on A Beginner's Mind, Back To Oz is imo far from one. In fact, it's one of my least favorite on that album. Nearly any other song would've killed this match, because Jon Batiste's song is pretty middle of the road for me but this time he gets my vote. Sufjan (alongide Augustine) are still the much superior musicians tho. _________________ My Top 100 :

Neither of these are my favorite songs on their respective albums, but both are definitely the biggest singles. This is probably the closest matchup of this round, I'm going with "We Are" but just barely. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
Sufjan is a legend - and if I'm being honest I have to say I thought he'd run away with it, I'm delighted it's that close - but it goes without saying I'll stand behind my man, you gotta admire his passion, his ambition and above all the positive energy he brings to the table, artists like him make our world a brighter place. _________________ Bob Dylan Charles Mingus
