I like Skirting on the Surface a lot, even paid too much money to see Smile live last year. However, CMAT's album, although inconsistent, had several of the year's highlights for me. Nashville is one of them, a top 3 song on the record for me and an easy vote in the end. Unique vocals, great storytelling and lyricism, rich sound, love it and it gets my vote. _________________ Finally updated the overall chart
CMAT - Nashville
Now style doesn't matter if YouTube decides.
You can't hide charisma in your pocket.
Two videos of 2021 made a name for the performer.
I confess that in 2022 I expected more from the album.
However, the magic of 2021 is still in effect.
By the way, the debut album and half of the tracks are singles.
Maybe now it has become a harmless hobby.))
The Smile - Skirting on the Surface
Last year I convinced myself that in 2000 time was zeroed.
The stars made Radiohead a religion.
I've never been a fan, but I respected the band for some hits.
I wish I didn't know who their stars now shine on.
Wicked tough one! Might have to go for the underdog. CMAT is new to me - really like the Kate Bush touch on the "No More Virgos".
edit: Went with the underdog since it was so close and honestly, Radiohead honestly doesn't need anymore love at this point! <What can I say? I'm a socialist, dammit!>
Nashville is cute and edgy at the same time, it easily surpassed my expectations.
Skrting on the Surface Is a song I briefly considered nominating, but then I thought anything Radiohead related is almost cheating. Still, there’s no way I’m voting against it, it could very well be the best song of the tournament. _________________ Bob Dylan Charles Mingus
