Was going to have a fancier post but my laptop crapped out on me, so dumped it on a rough Letterboxed list.

CUB's Seventies

Thanks Cestuneblague, tallied Smile

Unfortunately, you shook up our top 10 a bit unexpectedly, and now I have to prep more posters.
This list has actually been unusually fluctuating. Sometimes things are quite cement from the start, but this time around everything's been going up and down all over the place. Makes it a bit of fun on my end.

Hoping to see one or two more submissions before the day's through.

Wait... what— really? Surprised by that. Hoping you give it a go when you can. Not sure what you'd get it mixed up with tbh.

Either way, updated Smile — even changes that small ended up changing our top 10. The entire list is super tight.

(And glad you got around to The Ascent Smile — not exactly a fun film, but certainly one of the best of the 70s. Happy to see it landed your list.)

I was really tired when I compiled the list originally, and I don't remember which, but I confused it with either Forbidden Planet or Fantastic Voyage without thinking twice about it (just copying and pasting various selections -- not their rankings, just selections -- from another's "best of 70s" list for a chunk of mine "below 7.3", and without stopping to think that those two are both from prior decades). I am pretty sure it was Fantastic Voyage because that is 1966 (not far off from the 70s so wouldn't have occurred to me as quickly) and I added it just about the same time as another Fleischer, Soylent Green.

Yeah, Ascent was pretty great, sorta/kinda a fusion of the earlier Paths of Glory and the later Come and See. Glad to learn Klimov helped it get the notice it needed.

Anyone heard from Gowi? I'd actually be partial to delaying the results without their list being submitted. (No LB activity/lists or anything...)

well, i know I'm late, but if it's not too much trouble here is my expanded list. Now 50 and somewhat rearranged.

Got some rewatches in and reminded myself (using these lists and other online resources) of many good films I had forgotten - some rather great classics I left off out of sheer forgetfulness.

Anyway, still not a full 100 but at least it's a solid 50.

sorry, mate! I had given up hope then I saw the Gowi post. Hope Gowi's good as well.

as for this clue about changing the number 1... interesting... looking at NEWly added films or ones I moved way up or down, I assume I put One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest number 1 as I had somehow omitted it before. Or maybe just maybe the fact that I made my list longer, and thus gave more weight or power to my higher picks, I put Nashville number 1! (That would be awesome but I doubt it.)

I look forward to the list whenever it is unveiled.
