Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

Land Of Sleeper by Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs

What's up everyone!

So I decided for my turn in the ALC to go with a sludge album that was a real pleasant surprise for me this year. It's definitely one of the better sludge albums I've heard in recent years.

Let me know what you think!

Listened to an album by these guys a couple years back— think it was their 2017 record— I remember that despite it not exactly being my favourite genre, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Haven't really followed them since.

I'll give this a spin Smile

spent a little too much time trying to figure out if the name was a like "Buffalo Buffalo Buffalo" type deal

anyway, just some classic stonery psychy goodness. Not breaking any new ground or anything but I don't think they're trying to nor do they need to. Perfect balance of and interplay between sustained-chord hypnosis and cool/well-written riffs. Maybe not something I'll specifically revisit a whole lot (one of those albums that I enjoy plenty when its on but that doesn't leave a huuuge lasting impact other than "that was cool") but it's earned its place on the stoner rock playlist regardless.

Not a whole lot to say really, my partner is currently lighting up to this album so I think the band definitely accomplished what they set out to do

Stoner and psych stuff gets boring real fast for me, but this was enjoyable all the way through. Didn't reinvent the wheel but was super cool otherwise. Continues this ALC trend of easily listenable and likable albums, love it.
