Grossly overrated, but still a great album. The first three tracks are the strongest, One being one of greatest songs of the 90s - Axl Rose cried when he first heard it.
Mysterious Ways is another strong addition, the rest are average in comparison.

Maybe a few filler tracks, but still a great album, definitely their creative peak. Am I the only one that consider their post 90s-experimental-days some of their greatest work? ..Okay, it probably has something to do with nostalgia, but still!
Btw., the three posts after RFNAPLES' first post in this thread made laugh. _________________ "The Beatles, the greatest band known to mankind." - Bismah Mughal

I think their 90s work is their best... and this is their best album.

Agreed - except the point about Axl Rose. He`s unbalanced, so I`m not surprised he`d cry. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

I played the hell out of this when it came out and it has a high place on my chart and I feel a kneejerk reaction to the U2 backlashers here who have no concept of context for most of the albums that have ever been made, let alone this one... but then I look at the tracklist and I go, yeah, I could revise my opinion of this. I did! It's a really cool store. I was hoping to pick up copies of "The Doors" and "My Aim Is True", but sadly I was on a budget :/ I'm sure I'll be back someday, though.

U2's last good album.
I used to love this one...but time has taken its toll. Now except for One and Mysterious Ways I will usually skip over the songs when they come up on the shuffle. Haven't listened to the complete album in some time. Not that it's bad...just doesn't excite me anymore.
But those who are dissing Joshua Tree so completely? That album has some of the best songs of the 80s on it (and yeah, ok, some filler too). Can't understand where you're all coming from. _________________ <(: @ >

I've already written a comment on the album's page, so I can only paraphrase it, as it's not old enough for me to have changed my mind about the album: it has its moments ("The Fly", "One"), and then in parts it's absolutely ridiculous ("Mysterious Ways" is unforgivable IMO, "It's alright, alright, she moves, in mysterious wayyyys" good Lord)
