Mainly trying to listen to as much from 2013 as possible,I'm over 70 albums deep at the moment, although that pales in comparison to some users I'm pretty happy at my rate. Also been trying to explore more shoegaze/dream pop and been fucking with Broadcast and Jimmy Blake hard.I'm also going to comply an Irish chart soon,so I'm relistening to all the Irish shit in my collection.

Edit: I've also been trying to get to the bottom of contemporary/alternative r&b,which is significantly harder than I imagined.

YES!!! A fantastic documentary, and a fantastic musician. I had a music professor who actually met and played with Rodriguez, which is awesome.

I'm excited to see an Irish collection but what's this contemporary/alternative r&b you mentioned?

I've been trying to determine this,it seems to be just a tag people throw onto the likes of The Weeknd,How To Dress Well,Frank Ocean, etc. I don't think there is a core set of characteristics that determine it,the tag just gets thrown around a lot.I think anyways,I'm trying to dig deeper into it,but I don't actually think it's a thing,I could be wrong though.

Edit:I think it's alternative R&B I was talking about,I just looked up contemporary R&B and MJ and Prince came up.

On that note, PBR'n'B is the one of the most horrible terms being bandied around at the moment. Although if you are checking out this new wave of R'n'B, make sure you check out BAGO, SZA, BJ The Chicago Kid. I'll let you know others as I think of them.

Everything Wu-Tang Clan related. Listening to mostly Ghostface albums and Liquid Swords and gonna explore this Raekwon character, then get into some Method Man and ODB inspectah deck, RZA, etc... Meanwhile continuing to stay firmly grounded in the Wu-Tang albums. Geez! This is one group that has so many great solo albums connected that it is set to keep me exploring for like months!

I am really really obsessed with Ghostface' "Fishscale" album and of course "Supreme Clientele" right now.

Tom Waits and Brian Eno. Another Green World and Rain Dogs are excellent. I'll check out some more of their albums soon.
