An absolute masterpiece, I rate this slightly ahead of After The Gold Rush.
And for me Old Man has always edged out Heart Of Gold as the best track. _________________

I really like this, but haven't listened to it for quite some time now. I may check it out again soon.

I'm not a fan of Neil Young, myself, but there are some good tracks on here.

Right up there with After The Gold Rush and Tonight's The Night as one of my favorite Neil Young records.
Album of the Day has had a stronger run than usual the last few days. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

How did this guy get so acclaimed? Who had their hands in it? On these great albums of his it's the same guy with his guitar tackling the same old subjects many more men with their acoustic guitars have already. Bob down the fish and chippy probably has better vocals too.
Album is quite plain. Could take or leave 'Heart of Gold' and 'The Needle And The Damage Done'.

Honestly, I used to think Neil Young was boring then it all suddenly clicked into place. Young's lyrics are beautifully introspective in a way that relates to life's daily struggles. These are topics that can never be exhausted, especially when written about in insightful ways. I actually quite enjoy his voice also. _________________ http://jonnyleather.com

This album is on my chart. |
This one was my first Young album, but it was After the Gold Rush that really made me a fan. Regardless, Harvest is a good record. Granted, the instrumentation on A Man Needs a Maid and There's a World (especially the latter) is dubious at best, but with songs like The Needle and the Damage Done and Heart of Gold, how bad can an album be?
