My dad says he saw Arcade Fire perform "Reflektor" on SNL. He thought it sucked. It's hard to tell a guy that you need a different mindset to judge modern disco, especially since Dad hardly knows indie rock. He admits he can't judge.
My personal favorite track is "Reflektor." For an indie rock/modern disco album (and Wikipedia calls the album disco so don't judge me), that song would freaking rule the disco scene if it were released in the 70's.
Today abstraction is no longer that of the map, the double, the mirror, the concept. Simulation is no longer that of a territory, a referential being, or a substance. It is the generation by models of a real without origin or reality.
I had to bring this topic back for 2 reasons :
1)The new music video is released.Have you seen it ? what do you think about it ?
2)The Grammy awards. Will this album help arcade fire to "steal" another grammy from "mainstream" artists ?
Ok actually i don't care about that awards too much,But Reflektor beats eminem's and gaga's and timberlake's new albums easily (ok maybe not that easy in beating 20/20 xp but the other 2 are just too weak for reflektor)
