Ugh. It could have been great, but the lyrics and skits kill it for me. That being said, this is probably still Kanye's best work.

This albums a classic. Really like the soulful style, plus it's nice to hear Kanye's lyrics before he got famous. I'd say it's juuuuust behind MBDTF for his best.

Fifth out of six for me, as far as Kanye's solo catalog is concerned. That said, this really is a modern masterpiece. A few of these songs are among my absolute favorite songs, like regularly in contention for top ten or top twenty five favorite songs of all time.
Amazing stuff.
