- Post subject: Best Solo Artist Nominations - NOMINATIONS CLOSED

This tourney won't begin until the other things going on have died down somewhat, but I thought this would be a good opportunity for nominations to begin.
RULES FOR NOMINATIONS:
1. It must be a SOLO ARTIST you are nominating. "But what about someone closely associated with a group, such as Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention?" For someone to qualify as a solo artist in this tournament, they must have at least two solo albums to their name. Thus, Frank Zappa would be acceptable, but when voting you would not bring into consideration anything he did with the Mothers of Invention.
2. To avoid a foregone conclusion of the tourney, we'll be excluding any solo artist in BEA's top 40 ranked artists. This excludes Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Miles Davis, and Van Morrison. This makes Tom Waits the highest rated artist eligible for entry.
3. Each user may nominate two artists for now. If we don't reach enough nominations in a reasonable time, we'll allow additional nominations.
4. The ultimate goal is now 128 noms.
