This is a mesmerizing and gorgeous album. The instrumentation is so unique from everything else in Dylan's discography. To me, the words that beat describe this record are mysterious, entrancing and mesmerizing. I just love it!
I for some reason never really fell for this album until recently. But suddenly it just hit me how ethereal an truly unique this album is. I love the slight world music feel (I don't know what kind I world music, illiterate as hell on that) and I love Dylan's vocals throughout, and I left the beautiful and epic story songs that on here like Isis and Joey. I fucking ADORE the one- two punch of the harmonies and the violin throughout. Scarlet Rivera on violin just adds a whole new aspect and atmosphere to almost all the songs.
Yeah from start to finish this has got to be one of Dylan's finest moments.
Oh and everytime I hear the line at the beginning of "Joey" about "...the sound of the accordion" and that damn accordion comes in on my left speaker I smile wide and childishly. Perfect musical moment. _________________ -Ryan

Always have loved this album. Hurricane is incredible, Isis is fantastic, I've always enjoyed One More Cup of Coffee. My only thing is I really feel like Joey didn't need to be 11-minutes long, but whatever, it's still a good song. Love the album. _________________ 2023 Chart

Very good reason to start the new year - with good music. Desire is just that. On my list, this album by Dylan has been at the highest spot for a very long time. I don't believe that the year 2014 will bring change. _________________ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNGpsnTCUXM

There isn't a 'Blowin In The Wind' or 'Mr Tambourine Man' on this one. I can't put Hurricane on repeat like those. Bob still makes good music. I think they are very reliable and know what they are doing.

My second favorite Dylan album right behind The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan.
