It's music you play at prestigious academies. And a damn good one at that. _________________

I've never been as in love with this album as others seem to be, but it is a solid debut. Some songs I don't care much for, but the tracks that stick out are pretty endearing. "Walcott" is probably my favorite Vampire Weekend song, with a close second in "Hannah Hunt." That track in particular is a juggernaut, so it's good that it comes at the end. Anyway, good album.
Track picks
2. Oxford Comma
4. Cape Cod Kwassa Kwassa
6. Campus
10. Walcott

Like it, don't love it. Still, it has an innocent charm that they've long since lost.

It's amazing, I love it, way better than Graceland, etc. M79 is one of my favorite songs from the 00s.

I dunno, I found it pretty annoying. Still better than Contra, though.

Love it, all of it. This past summer will forever be associated with Vampire Weekend for me, I listened to almost nothing else. When I was leaving Cape Cod in July I listened to this album and when Walcott came on it was fucking perfect, as I was actually sitting in traffic at the bottleneck. Shit show indeed.

Enjoyable bit of innocent, naive fun. I can see how people perceive it as annoying, but it really is hard for me to resist going mental at this little bundle of joy. _________________
