Obviously, I think Waits is a must!

Id also like to do Nick Drake (I was unaware the Leaves even competes with Layter)

others i would like to see would be ; The Rolling Stones, The Who, REM, White Stripes, Talking Heads, Elliott Smith, Nick Cave, Elton John, Black Keys.

I would love to see some Townes Van Zandt discussion, because i think his chart rankings are ALL jacked up.

but again, i think Tom Waits is a must!

As I've stated earlier, I consider the first half sublime (I could maybe do without "Flying", but I certainly don't mind it). However, "Strawberry Fields Forever" is the only song on the second half that holds up against the first half, there's absolutely no flow to the second half, and "All You Need Is Love" is legitimately one of my least favorite songs of all time.

So yes, Facetious, I'd say it has problems with flow.

You're on crack.

My noms for this would be those (good ideas!) and XTC, though IDK if people here know them past Skylarking ...

Maybe she also thinks the album doesn't flow well?

Anyways, I see the point you guys are trying to make. I also realized that it is quite possible that I have never listened to the compilation as-is. Oh well. (EDIT: Now I have. The only major flaw I could detect was the choice for All You Need is Love as closer. It fits better on the Yellow Submarine album IMO, and should've been deleted from MMT. The rest of MMT is more or less near the quality of Sgt. Pepper.)

BTW, if you reorder the Side 1 tracks to match the original EP's tracklist, and the 1967 singles by release date, this is what you get:

Side 1:
Magical Mystery Tour
Your Mother Should Know
I Am the Walrus
The Fool on the Hill
Flying
Blue Jay Way

Side 2:
Penny Lane
Strawberry Fields Forever
All You Need is Love
Baby You're a Rich Man
Hello, Goodbye

I love MMT and yes, it's made for me! Smile
But I never considered it to be a 'real' album. I think it doesn't really flow very well together.
I like the EP, which I think is very strong, but the B-side of the LP are just singles put together. Even if those singles are all great, they don't make the LP as a whole 'album'. Still, I enjoy listening to it.

I think #7 on my list is fair. The first five albums are the best in my opinion. A Hard Days Night is better as an album than MMT, Help!. Please Please Me or Let it Be.
I feel MMT is stronger than Help!, or Please Please Me or the others, though.
