Though everything up till New Moon is really a masterpiece. New Moon's actually pretty good, Roman Candle and From a Basement I've not heard in some time, so maybe they're better than I remember, I just remember them being kinda bland compared to the others. _________________

Silverwalrus has shown me the ways of the self titled. Those opening chords of Needle In The Hay instantly make me feel emotional.

I'm glad you've come around on it. I remember a few months ago you were saying you couldn't get into Smith because of his voice, but god if it isn't one of the most haunting voices in music history to me.
Anyways, Smith is very near and dear to my heart, but I find my opinions on his albums tend to disagree with a lot of people, lets go.

To be honest, even though I like XO, I've never come close to understanding how so many people have it as their favorite Smith album. His early stuff is just so intensely emotional and intimate. It's like music he never wanted anyone else to hear, and in that designation makes it by far his most revealing and powerful work. That's just my opinion anyways. I'm still not sure whether I like his self titled or Roman Candle more, but most of his work is absolutely amazing, and he's been a huge influence on my own songwriting.

I haven't heard all of Elliot Smith, which makes me think that users such as myself, which haven't heard everything by the given musician, should somehow be accounted for to um ... account ... for that...
anyways

2. X/O
3. Either Or
4. Roman Candle
5. Figure 8
all (that I've heard) are actually good imo, unlike the previous Beatles match

All users are taken into account (even those that haven't listened to all of the albums). I do have a proportionate weighting system in place as a result though.
