Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 7% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.2/100, a mean average of 73.6/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.4/100. The standard deviation for this album is 16.5.

I really love this. One of the most pristine-sounding records of its era. Machine-like precision yet never mechanical. The last few tracks sorta lose the momentum, but even then, they're still fine. Can't wait to check out more of these guys.

Incredible record likely overlooked by people who think they're just a disco band (a term Nile Rodgers and Bernard Edwards resented). Virtuosic musicianship by all involved, and especially check out Savoir Faire to those who only think of Nile as a rhythm player. Absolutely shreds and it sounds sublime. Biased to give this a rating now, but this gradually went from just another regular album to one of my favorite records of all time.

FAVORITE TRACKS: Savoir Faire, Sometimes You Win, Happy Man, I Want Your Love
ALSO CHECK OUT: Le Freak, the big hit most remember from this LP

Listen to those vocals, that bass, those sexy lyrics. A perfect album for a long hot summer night. Not one flaw. This is THE masterpiece from the disco-era !!!
Highlight : I WANT YOUR LOVE
