Second time's the charm, I guess. How could I possibly have been so wrong?
This is a masterpiece. A FRIKEN MASTERPIECE.
I don't know. I guess I was in the right mood today. It just... it sounds SO GOOD. His voice and the guitars and the energy and emotion... it's mind-boggling. And that album cover... I saw it for about two seconds a few years back and it just stuck in my head. When I saw nitro2k11's avatar I immediately recognized the face and went about getting the music. But I guess I wasn't feeling it that day, and I just assumed it was a mediocre album with a wicked cover.
But... today I put it on... And then put it on again... and couldn't believe my ears... the pure emotion in Shit Towne, or the epic build-up of The Dam At Otter Creek, or the power in I Alone... It's just an amazing album, even though I might go deaf from listening to this at such high volumes. I can't use words to describe it. Go listen to it. Then wait a month and listen to it again. It's sublime.

This is an amazing album that gets overlooked because they didn't release the best songs as singles (Dam at Otter Creek, Iris, T.B.D., Pillar of Davidson). Live never replicated the quality here, but this one is a must-have 90s classic.

Very distinctive 90s sound - heavy guitars, loud echoing drums, super-serious lyrics - definitely derivative of the more original bands from the late 80s/early 90s. However, of all the records that piggy-backed off the indie/punk/grunge success, Throwing Copper did it the best. This album still holds up 20 years later, even the non-radio tracks. Lightning Crashes, Selling the Drama, All Over You and Pillar of Davidson are the highlights.

This is one of those truly great albums. Live has a kinda grungy sound, but with stadium-filling components akin to U2. Throwing Copper is their best album, creative from start to finish with big rock sounds and their usual high-concept lyrics.

Good album. I really like the first three tracks, especially “I Alone” and “Selling The Drama.” “Lightning Crashes” and “All Over You are solid, too. They could have left off tracks 9–11 and ended up with a better record, though.
