Safe and boring in a time when music was exciting. Get in the bin.
A powerful album with great epic songs like the into of The Dam At Otter Creek to my fav track White, Discussion, along with all the hits. A brilliant piece of work.
Classic 90s album. One of those albums that everyone seemed to own back in the day. Ed Kowalczyk has one of the best vocals of alternative rock.
One of the most Meh albums of all time. As middle of the road as it comes. Over sentimental tripe played well enough. Sounds like a made for tv movie version of an edgy rock band. talented enough but just so damn plain.
Throwing copper, fire a bullet.
I love albums beginning with a string of excellent tracks & 'Throwing Copper' may well have the greatest opening streak in the history of rock. Consider these if you will:
Track 1:"The Dam At Otter Creek" is incredible
Track 2: "Selling The Drama" is really good
Track 3: "I Alone" is great
Track 4: "Iris" is incredible
Track 5: "Lightning Crashes" is so powerful
Track 6: "Top" is solid
Track 7: "All Over You" is down right sublime
Track 8: "Shit Town" is just about my favourite song on the whole album
The streak is broken with track 9 "T.B.D" which quite frankly isn't very good
Tracks 1 - 8 = Greatest start in rock history
P.S does anyone know what Throwing Copper actually means ? I've searched on line to no avail
For me the third best album ever.
Amazing album! One I listen to this day . Poor Live never got close to repeating Throwing Copper & let’s be honest Secret Samadi downright stinks. A long lost friend once told me she had a 3 some to this album, I’m not sure if it’s true or not but when ever I hear this album I can’t help but think of her LOL
Great album. Best 10 songs average is 92,5/100 and the album can get great 95/100. Best song is "Lightning crashes" maximum rating, followed by "Selling the drama" great 95/100. Most other songs very good, some good. Clear favourite!
Genre: Alternative Rock, Post-Grunge
Live's best album and it isn't close.
Consistently good throughout it's smart/preachy 90's grunge with distinct vocal range.
Throwing Copper limits the amount of preach which ups the appeal compared to other Live
Throwing Copper fuses instrumental melody and hooks with vocals best here. Other Live albums have always had interesting vocals with often times mundane or bland instruments around it.
The singles are well known and there are other highlights too. Throwing Copper is one of the better albums out of the 90's sound
