Rating metrics: Help Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)

This album is rated in the top 11% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 74.6/100, a mean average of 74.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 75.0/100. The standard deviation for this album is 17.0.

Buckingham Nicks is the self-titled 1973 debut and only studio album by American rock duo Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. While initially a commercial failure, the record became the "audition tape" that led them to join Fleetwood Mac and change rock history.

I've had this album on MP3 and recently purchased the remastered on vinyl. It sounded great on my stereo system and I enjoyed having the information in the cover. I figured Lindsey was the one behind the music but didn't know Stevie was writing lyrics back then. I understand Fleetwood was at the studio when he first heard "Frozen Love" from this album. Good decision to include Stevie with Lindsey when offering them to join Fleetwood Mac. I guess the rest is history.

This album foreshadows the impact they would have on Fleetwood Mac.

If they rereleased this album, more people would be able to hear this long lost gem.

it's a shame this album has never been released on CD... i know that Stevie and Lindsey were talking about it years ago but couldn't agree on some aspect of the release. i'm still hoping that one day they'll decide to finally put it on CD, and in the meantime i'll cherish my vinyl copy :-)
