Love Planet is a terrific album & I’m surprised I am the first to bring it to the BEA site. What makes it so good? Essentially it’s the quintessential Melbourne album by the quintessential Melbourne band. Love Planet also has a weird kinky sexual flavour running through its veins with tracks such as BASIA , LOVE PLANET , GUN FOR FUN, LOVE HATE LOVE and HOLE OF LOVE & they all work perfectly and never feel creepy or vulgar. Sadly Painters and Dockers would never get close to repeating this great debut release but it stands testament to a time and place when for a short time they were kings of Melbourne
