In the 70s and 80s Kenny Rogers was the undisputed champion of dueting with female vocalists, from Sheena Easton and Kim Carnes to Dolly Parton - but the duet partner who started Kenny along his way on the golden record road was Dottie West. I'm not sure why the public ate up Kenny and his companions so much, but they certainly had a taste for them. Kenny and his cohorts hit the musical sweet spot of the listening audience. This 1979 compilation features , as the title alludes to, 10 classics either originally made famous by others, or by the pairing of Rogers and a less bearded singer. West was always a dynamic singer and her smoky voice sits well with Rogers' own husky howl. This is a country=pop must-have.
