Came for the H.R. Giger artwork, stayed for some awesome death metal. Everything about this album is heavy as hell; the instrumentation, the vocals, the concept, even the titles. Life Is a Long and Silent River, Fatal Step, and Abyss of Addiction, come on those are ridiculous in the best way possible, I can't pick a favorite. I do think some of the lyrics are on the nose, but otherwise a very excellent and underrated death metal album.
