Rating metrics:
Outliers can be removed when calculating a mean average to dampen the effects of ratings outside the normal distribution. This figure is provided as the trimmed mean. A high standard deviation can be legitimate, but can sometimes indicate 'gaming' is occurring. Consider a simplified example* of an item receiving ratings of 100, 50, & 0. The mean average rating would be 50. However, ratings of 55, 50 & 45 could also result in the same average. The second average might be more trusted because there is more consensus around a particular rating (a lower deviation).
(*In practice, some albums can have several thousand ratings)
This album is rated in the top 9% of all albums on BestEverAlbums.com. This album has a Bayesian average rating of 75.2/100, a mean average of 77.1/100, and a trimmed mean (excluding outliers) of 77.1/100. The standard deviation for this album is 9.8.

Has gone into my top 50 albums of all time, along with Dark Eyes and Sun Leads Me On, hmmm might have to make it top 100, so many jostling for favour in there! But I love everything about the albums, the beauty of the solo piano piece, all the different layers, guitar riffs, percussion, keyboard, bass, strings, slide guitar and all the other instruments I'm not sure of (I miss vinyl!!) and then the singing: the soul and feeling of the singing, the melodies, the harmonies: all these combine in one glorious cup of beauty and spirit and feeling and fun and melancholy and sublimity (is that a word?). Music that inspires similar feelings in me (too many to mention ((the songs but also the feelings bahaha)) but here goes: songs are Will to Love Neil Young (one of the most under rated songs ever imho and loads of other early songs of his), all of Dark Side of the Moon Pink Floyd, Say it ain't so Murray Head, Dreams, Need your love so bad, Future Games, Man of the world Fleetwood Mac/Peter Green, Ripples, Entangled I know what I like Genesis, lots of Leonard Cohen, Losing It Rush, Behind Blue Eyes and 5.15 The Who, most of CSNY's songs........and on... Music: Erik Satie, Prokofiev's Romeo and Juliet, many Chopin Preludes, Carmina Burana (technically opera I suppose), and loads of other music that I can't think of right now. Going away to cry, laugh, draw and hang out washing now, might need a wee lie down!
I'm really really surprised Half Moon Run hasn't really taken off as I would've expected them to. Their debut album was one of my favorite records growing up (which I discovered thanks to a trailer for Assassin's Creed IV). Their second effort didn't surprise me as much but it was pretty good also. The canadian band takes their sound to new grounds on "A Blemish In The Great Light" and it might be their best album to date. Here they fuse their indie/alt rock spirit with some synths here and there, a happier piano in a lot of parts and a lot of energy overall.
I really urge you to give them a shot. They are heavily underrated and they keep on getting better.
