Let’s be honest singers songwriters are a dime a dozen and to my ears it can be difficult to differentiate one from the other with an endless stream of similar sounding albums. But occasionally a gem comes along that manages to cut through the blur and make you sit up and take notice, ‘Arcadia’ the second full album by Los Angeles artist Lily Kershaw is one such release
Opening with the beautifully lush “Unrequited Night “ the albums 11 track are simply gorgeous with not a single filler or weak link moment. The consistency here is really impressive and unique ( one track features a Mellotron)
It’s quite difficult to find a contemporary touch point , maybe Phoebe Bridges and Mitski would be the closest I can think of
Highly highly recommended album from an artist I’ll be keeping a close eye on from here onwards
