Not King Monkeys finest, few too many clunkers on this Sunshine and Lions are particular low points for me... There's a solid 38 minute LP in here with some editing... My Star, Corpses, Nah Nah all fantastic, the rest of the songs range from poor to ok...

I heard this at the time after having the first 2 singles and enjoying those but thinking this album was awful. Listening now it's not as bad as I thought, though my expectations were so low. Listenable but most of it sounds like demos and some of the drums are laughable. I'd rather listen to this than the seahorses record, brown still has charm. Really the only studio album of his I need is golden greats and his best of is really only what most need.

This album is actually in my 'hall of shame' as one of the worst I've ever heard. The singles are fine, but some of the album tracks are so poor it makes me wonder if Brown might actually have been taking the piss.
