Recorded live at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on May 1st, 1972.
Pretty good live album though it pales in comparison to the studio version. For one, the mixing isn't great, even though it was remastered in 2019 (it was originally available in 2001 as a bonus disc as part of the 30th anniversary reissue, but the quality was bad enough that it honestly made for not so great listening).
Also, being Gaye's first live performance in 4 years, this was far from his best (though quite good considering he was rusty). This was the only time he recorded the whole album What's Going On in full, although unfortunately the track "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)" was lost due to issues when recording.
