One of the best covers albums there is.
A great soundtrack to a good film. I think this was loosely based on Van Morrison and Them.

Some great versions of some fabulous tunes here. Andrew Strong puts his own stamp on songs like Mustang Sally and Try a Little Tenderness, and Maria Doyle shines as well. Both the album and the movie were instrumental in getting me into Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett and soul in general.
What a voice Andrew Strong has. Some great versions of classic songs on this.

Andrew Strong and company revived classic soul just as they did in the movie. A marvelous example of life imitating art, even if this album is not original art.
