This album was originally released in 1958 on Decca Records (Cat#: DL 9055) and featured one number by Lionel Hampton supported by the All Stars and three numbers by The All Stars themselves. The Lionel Hampton cut features Hampton on Vibes, Willie Smith on Alto Sax, Charlie Shavers on Trumpet, Slam Stewart on Bass, Barney Kessel on Guitar, Tommy Todd on Piano, Lee Young on Drums, and Corky Corcoran on Tenor Sax. The other numbers feature some combination of the above musicians minus Hampton. It was produced by Gene Norman and recorded at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in August, 1947. The album I have on hand is the 1990 MCA Records re-issue on CD (Cat#: MCAD-42329) Authenticated on discogs.com
