Fantasy (studio album) by M83

Every track on “Fantasy” sounds like the one at the end of a movie. They have these huge build ups of sound that transform into lingering semi ambient pieces. The production is rich and every detail feels crafted. Unfortunately this approach loses momentum as the album continues. When every song sounds like an ending, you expect it to end. It stops being grandiose and becomes a bit bloated. The huge feelings start to feel aimless or a little deceiving. The quality always remains solid but its purpose not so much.

It's exactly what you would expect to hear from an M83 record. Poppy Electronica. No problem with that but it was just better on Hurry Up...

More synth heavy shoegaze tastiness from the French group :p

best of 2023 until may, a kind of mix of sigur ros with perfume genious and jessie ware, good instrumental quality, good production but not excessive. The album flows perfectly, it has no hits, it counts as a whole.
