How many times they said "angel" in this album? they get a new record on that

Brilliant album. So pleasantly surprised how moving this album is considering the last few albums have been average at best.

“Memento mori” really kicks in at “My favorite Stranger”. The synths are produced with a deep and full sound. This weight sounds foreboding and acts as a wonderful anchor for Gahan’s vocals. The lyrical focus on death is well incorporated and adds a proper thematic cohesiveness. Most creatively, there are references to previous Depeche mode tracks that invoke a near death reflection. “Memento mori” does have its weaknesses. Melodies can be overused and some lyrics are a bit repetitive. “Caroline's Monkey” is a prime example with its labored use of “Caroline” over and over. Even with some cracks, the album proves that Depeche Mode still deserves to exist in a post Fletcher world.

A mi parecer el mejor álbum de Depeche Mode desde Playing The Angel, Ghost Again también podría tratarse de su último gran sencillo desde Wrong. A pesar de la lamentable e inesperada muerte de Andy Fletcher, Dave Gahan y Martin Gore siguieron adelante y crearon un álbum con una atmosfera oscura como en sus mejores tiempos. Tiene algunas estupendas canciones como la abridora My Cosmos Is Mine, Always You o la conmovedora Speak To Me. Si este resulta ser el último álbum de Depeche Mode, se habrán despedido de manera digna y elegante.

Not sure how these guys and can so well balance the emotions of joy and sadness relating to life, death, and mortality.

Very cool that Depeche are still going, doing their thing, and making great music in the process.

Been a few top class come backs from older artists this decade from people like Nas or Suede, who many had written off for good reason. I certainly had and their last before this I thought was a final embarrassing nail and a low point. It's funny how adversity can galvanise acts to push further, re-evaluate and reexamine themselves. Definitely in the next conversation you have about brilliant comebacks. A must for any DM fans who'd given up on them.
