One of the greatest band of all time.

One of my favourite bands ever. Complex, emotional and never a band to shy away from controversial topics. Plus a great ear for a tune and you can dance to some of their stuff.

Personally, they're not one of my favorites. However, I understand the greatness and respect they get even if they're not in my wheelhouse. Violator though is a masterpiece no matter what you think of the band.
A highly influential electronic act, I love how they began to take a darker atmosphere and darker lyrics in their music. That made them more interesting. Black Celebrations, Music For The Masses, Violater, and Songs of Faith and Devotion is their creative peak
Was one of my biggest influences in 80-90's , and still putting out quality music today
My favourite band of all time
Fathers of dark pop, and best electronic band of the '80s. Mostly influenced by Kraftwerk but, on the other hand, DM influenced the whole german electronic scene. Synthpop bands as Diorama, Seabound, De/Vision, Beborn Beton, Covenant, Deine Lakaien, Wolfsheim, Rotersand etc, they wouldn't even exist if there wasn't DM. Their greatest works were between '86 and '93, and their greatest mistake...they let Alan Wilder go, in '94.

Without fear of being wrong, I dare say that Depeche Mode is one of the 10 most influential bands in history, and an underrated band.
